Father David was born in Baltimore, Maryland and has lived in Nashville, Tennessee and Sacramento California. He earned his Doctor of Ministry at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Previously a third generation general contractor, he has developed interests and skills in music, boating, fishing, golf and cycling. He also enjoys museums, historic places, and state and national parks.
Father David is a published author and songwriter/singer. While in Grove, Oklahoma he established a regular Monday night “Bluegrass Jam” at St. Andrews. He is also a certified Corporate Paralegal and serves as a volunteer with the Delaware County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for children. An active member of Grove Rotary Club, he volunteers in a number of service programs sponsored by the club.
His first service at Emmanuel will be Pentecost Sunday, May 19.
Kristie Fayler McElheny is a life-long Bristol resident and graduated from Virginia High School and Virginia Intermont College with a B.A. in Organizational Management. Before coming to Emmanuel in 2009 she worked with non-profit agencies in the Bristol area and has expertise in marketing, administration and public relations. She and her husband Don have eight children, two grandsons and six granddaughters. Kristie is active with her parish at Saint Anne Catholic Church.
Jennifer Bemis recently moved from south Alabama to Troutdale, VA. She earned a M.M. in piano performance from the University of Southern Mississippi and a B.M. in piano performance from the University of South Alabama. Jennifer and her husband have two grown daughters. In her spare time she likes to bake, garden, kayak, hike, and spend time with her dogs.
