Lamb of God

The Lamb of God or Agnus Dei is a symbolic title for Jesus Christ. Instead of being shown in His human nature, Christ is represented as a lamb, with reference to the words of John the Baptist: "Behold, the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world" (John 1:29). This is an artist's interpretation of one of the visions of St. John the Evangelist (Revelation 7:9-17).
